Triggering Work

Resurfacing/resealing or adding spaces = alteration → must meet current scoping

Simple restriping in place = typically maintenance

Technical Features (High-Value Checks)

Access Aisle

  • • 60″ minimum width
  • • Level (≤1:48 slope)
  • • Full length of stall
  • • Clearly marked to discourage parking

Signs

  • • International Symbol of Accessibility
  • • Bottom of sign ≥60″ above grade
  • • "Van Accessible" where required

Van Spaces

  • • 132″ stall + 60″ aisle, OR
  • • 96″ stall + 96″ aisle
  • • 98″ vertical clearance along route

Louisiana-Specific Overlay

Paint "NO PARKING" across each access aisle in letters ≥12″ high. Penalties: $275 first offense / $500 subsequent + towing authorization.
